It's a bit of a milestone when the walls get to the point where the ceiling beams are going on. It means that all of the internal structure is complete so that we can get going on the second level.

View from the rear garden area. The orange 30cm perimeter beam is visible, as are the smaller rib beams at about a 1m spacing for the boveda ceiling. |
Here's an example of how the boveda is constructed. A metal jig is placed between the two beams, and a course of bricks are laid in an arch. The jig moves and additional courses are added. |
Boveda rib beams going into place. Also visible on the left side of the hallway opening are a few narrow channels. This is how the electrical happens- after the walls are up, channels are cut for the wiring to run in. In this case, it's going to wall switches. |
More plumbing. This is the plumbing for the outside bathroom under the stairwell, which will also ostensibly be the change room for the pool area. |
Another view of the top beams going up. Also visible in the centre is the 40x40 load pillar, which put a bit of a kink in our design. This was supposed to be a flat wall. No plan survives contact with reality, I guess. |
